Free Stuff!!

Here's something new we are going to start doing......The first person who responds to this blog you're reading right now with the words "RAE'S PHOTOS ROCK" gets 3 free 5x7's of their choosing. This can be for a previous event OR for an upcoming event and is up for grabs by anyone. It's our way of saying thank you for checking in on us. Be sure to leave your name on the blog too when you post to win so we know who to congratulate. After we confirm your win, you can call or e-mail us with the event and numbers of the 3 photos you would like and we'll mail them to you. Look for more stuff like this in the future!

One Word "Details"

I was just looking through some of the photos from Ashley and Joseph's wedding this weekend when I realized I should post some of the beautiful details of their big day. We love outdoor weddings, and this one was not lacking all of the little things that made the day memorable. Capturing shots like these is what we hope will allow you to look back at your photos in 20 years and remember every detail of your wedding day. You can see more of their photos in the proofing section!

The "Sun" Logo

I’ve recently had a few people ask me about the origin of my sun logo, so let me bore you with all the details….

It started when I would introduce myself as “Rae” and people would say “what?” I guess a girl named Rae is shocking at first. So, I would say “Rae like a sunray, except with an e.” When I was signing up for my 1st email account, I used sunrae AT usa DOT net & that was 12 or 13 years ago. A few years later, the usa people started charging so I switched to other email accounts and finally settled on sunrae6xx6@yahoo.com which I still have to this day. Wesley wanted to name our first boat after me (for me letting him buy it) 6 years ago, so instead of using my actual name, he had the sun logo made for it which is on the back of the boat (see below). Also, my sister got a sun tattoo that I have always loved….it should be my tattoo. I absolutely love everything about this tattoo design…except it’s on her dang leg. So, the boat decal and Margie’s tat contributed to the first sun logo design on our original website. We decided to change the logo with the launch of our new site. The logo is now a half sun with “Rae” in the middle for “sunrae” and we like this one much better than the old one. So, there’s a little history on the sun logo. I hope our photos bring everyone a little sunshine. I also MUST thank my wonderful hubby for doing all the design work on my logos….I LOVE the final version we are using now! He never complained when I turned my nose up to the 25 designs he proposed before the final one….LOVE YOU BABY!

Rae Leytham Photo Phase II

Dear friends,
Rae and I would like to announce the launch of our new website at www.raeleytham.com. We want to personally thank all of you for your support and friendships during the past year which has given us the ability to achieve our goals. We never thought 15 months ago that our success would grow to the point it has today. Rae thought this business was going to be her 5 year plan to self employment, but instead she officially retired from law enforcement two weeks ago. We credit all of you for allowing us to use you for the portrait sittings and being our “subjects” while we found our artistic style and learned our equipment thoroughly. Some of you may notice that you are already “pictured” in one of the galleries J We will be tweaking this new website over the coming weeks by adding new logos, interactive slideshows, organizing photos, changing colors, music etc., so keep checking in to see what’s new. We are having an incredible amount of fun on this journey and hope that you have been as satisfied with your photos as we have. We are now going to start what I consider Phase 2 of Rae Leytham Photography beginning with this new website and lots more to come soon. Rae and I both have a lot of late nights behind us getting this ball rolling and we are so appreciative that you, our friends, have helped push it along.

See you soon!
