We did an Fab engagement session with Danielle and Len Friday afternoon. They are getting married this October here in Pensacola and will have a gorgeous wedding at St. Michaels Church followed with a reception at MySpayce. These two know how to work it, and their shoot was nothing less than spectacular. Here's just a tad bit of how it went......

Take the poll!
Notice the little poll on the left column..... Which do you prefer, wedding slideshows to music or 15 beautified still photos? The slideshows are more time consuming, so I cannot promise one for every wedding. I would love to get all input on which is better!

Big Changes...Again
If you made it this far, you can probably tell the blog looks a little different. You will also notice our brand new logo at the top of the page. We are in the process of tweaking this new blog for a couple of days, so please be patient while the text is mis-aligned and everything looks a little crooked. It will all be worth it in the end! *wes*
ETA - In case you can't tell....the icon in our new logo is a sun. We wanted to stay with the sun since I am such a sunny person. LOL!!! My first email account was sunrae @ something dot something, that is where we came up with the sun. Wesley and I designed the last logo and we felt it was time to get something a little fresher. I hope you all like it! Oh...and after juggling around with a whole bunch of colors, we ended up back in the same color family that we started with. ---rae

Whitney & Caleb & Storms!
This weekend we traveled to Montgomery, AL, for the wedding of Whitney & Caleb. Whitney is the sister of one of our brides from last year whose wedding you can see again here. It's always flattering when we get the opportunity to photograph for the same family again. They had a really beautiful ceremony with reception following in the reception hall of the church.
The choir was in the balcony during the ceremony and set the whole mood of the wedding.... Another interesting feature was the weather. Right as Whitney came down the aisle, a huge storm erupted. Lighting was popping, hail was falling, and the power started blinking. What an adventure! In some ways I think it enhanced the whole experience with the choir and will definitely make the day more memorable.....
They wanted to see each other prior to the ceremony which most of you know we LOVE! There is nothing better than capturing that first moment.
This was not posed.........
This was... how cute are they?
Whitney soaking up some beautiful window light....
This is Caleb's brother reading a scripture during the ceremony. I love the look on the ring bearer's face.
They spent the reception just walking around and laughing with their guests.
Caleb's brother gave a beautiful toast....
While they were surrounded by friends and family....
And the bubbles are always a great way to finish!

Nattie is getting so big!
I can't believe Natalie is already 7 months old. Avery and Natalie are good friends since Avery goes to her house when we have photo shoots sometimes. Jenni has her hands full with 2 babies, but I think she loves it. I'm sure you all remember Jenni and Jason from their wedding pics back in November 2005. Anyhoo-Natalie is growing like a weed and is exceeding the growth charts just like Avery! LOL! Can you believe how much hair this girl has?? She might look like her Daddy, but she has her mama's gorgeous hair. It's even the same color as Jenni's! Oh-I wish you all could hear Natalie laugh. She sounds like a sweet little woodpecker. It is sooooo dang cute!
Pigtails....on a SEVEN MONTH OLD!! WAY CUTE!
I forgot to mention that Natalie is a full-fledge crawler now. She is super fast. It's not easy taking pics of a squirming 7-month old....especially one that is proud to show off her crawling!
She knows how to read too. LOL!
Have you ever seen anyone with teal-colored eyes?? These are REAL!!
Awww.....

Gabrielle at 4 months
We had the pleasure of photographing little Gabrielle recently. Her family is good friends of ours and she was born a couple of weeks after our Avery back in April. She is the cutest thing and did very well for her photo session.....
She didn't really care for this one much, but it is still the cutest! This is her Uncle Pete's temper!!!

More Cowbell..... YouTube Clip
This is Rae's favorite SNL moment and one of those cult skits that will haunt most of us for the rest of our lives. This skit is probably 6 years old now and we still look at each other sometimes and say "I need more cowbell".... Will Ferrell at his finest!

Courtney & Chip Engagements
We had a blast with Courtney and Chip down at the beach this afternoon. These two are so in love and it definitely shows in the photos. They were so easy to photograph that we just let them do their thing and went with the flow. They will be getting married this November in Biloxi and we know the party is going to be great since we know their friends from previous weddings! Do you remember Renee & Pierre from April 2006 and Sara & Ray from October 2006?
8 levels of narcissism
I have been tagged twice for a game of Photographer Blog Tag, so I better get this going before I get tagged again. I was tagged by Michelle White of Michelle White Photography in Atlanta, GA and Teddi Maull of Picture the Day Photography in Denver, CO, both of whom I met at the Xtreme! seminar in NYC last fall. The goal is to share 8 fun and/or interesting facts about myself and then tag 8 other photographers to do the same.
8 facts
1 - Wesley and I met in high school band and were not always friends. One day, I actually told my mom that he was not nice, but I used another word. We ended up going to prom together just as friends! We didn’t start “dating” until I was in college.
2 - My ex-boyfriend was in our wedding. He was a groomsman. He and Wes were best friends in HS and he was my boyfriend in HS. That’s why Wes and I didn’t like each other. We had to share him. BTW – we got married on April 15, 2000 which was my parents’ 31st anniversary.
3 - My family and Wes’ family have known each other for years. My parents and Wes’ mom graduated high school together. My uncles played baseball for Wes’ grandfather’s team. It was fate for us to be together!
4 - I have a degree in Biology from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. I used my degree at a few jobs, but mostly in my Forensics jobs for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office. My Forensics jobs include Evidence Intake, Photography/Latent Prints, Serology/DNA, and Crime Scene Investigations.
5 - One of my favorite movies is “Best in Show.” It’s a mock-umentary about a dog show and I laugh just thinking about it. Wes really likes it too. Most people we know don’t like it as much, but that’s ok…I won’t hold it against you.
6 - Speaking of movies – I can recite almost all the words to “Sixteen Candles.” I think my sister and I wore that tape out one summer. “Well, well, well…..if it isn’t Sammy Davis Baker Junior.”
7 - I have been a bridesmaid in eight weddings. I was the maid/matron of honor in 6 of them.
8 – I am left-handed. Wesley is right-handed. Avery is undecided.
Check out the 8 fabulous photographers I am tagging:
Patsy Brown of A Thousand Words Photography in Pensacola, FL
Meg & Charles Baisden of Meg Baisden Photography in Pensacola, FL
Hara & Jeremy Cook of Cook Images in Pensacola, FL
Krystal & Matt Radlinski of The K Gallery in Gainesville, FL
Eric Doggett of Eric Doggett Studios in Austin, TX
Rayna Mercer of Ray of Light Photography in Rapid City, SD
Crystal Goss of Crystal Goss Photography in Conway, AR
Kerry Goodwin of KLG Productions in Boston, MA

Stacey and Matt's Engagements
We went downtown Tuesday to hang out with Stacey and Matt. They will be getting married the last weekend in October, which should be a beautiful time of year for their wedding. At least it won't be 102 degrees like this week!! The weather got a little gloomy right before the shoot, but we made the best of it and had a great time!
Could someone please tell this truck to stay out of my shot and quit goofing off in the bay?
