Do unto others......

This is going to be a little touchy, but my goal this year is to be a little more honest and up front (possibly even controversial) here on the blog. For Pensacola to be such a small town, the politics among the wedding vendors here is pretty harsh most of the time. We have booked clients in the past who have told us about other photographers talking smack about us and such, yet they still used us because they were so turned off by the other person's negativity and obvious politics. At the bottom of this is a link to an article every vendor in town should read about how supporting each other helps to improve business for all of us. Rae and I have made it a goal from day one to not build our business up by trashing the competition. We lay our cards on the table with our work and our expertise, and if a bride decides to use another photographer because our style was not exactly what they were looking for, we have absolutely no problem with that. You should feel a connection with your vendors from day one to get the most out of your wedding, and sometimes that just does not happen for whatever reason. This goes with any vendor, not just photography. So to stop rambling and sum it all up, if you have visited one of these negative vendors and their main goal was to trash everyone else, beware. They probably do not have the expertise in their field to win you over with their work alone. For any other vendors who understand this theory, this is a great link: Click here!

Hopefully this church congregation is going to grow....There are some vendors (and competitors) that I really admire and I am ready to turn some things around in this town! Can I get the choir to sing kumbaya? Amen...hallelujah

Better yet, "Hello, my name is Wesley, and I like some of my competitors!" Can someone help me?

The reason people talk trash about you is because you are AWESOME and they are threatened by you. Period. Hopefully prospective clients will be turned off by this behavior and prefer to be in the company of two wonderful photographers instead. After all, who can resist Rae's smile? Love, Sherry

OMG- this is EXACLTY what we were all talking about a couple days ago- specifically with YOU TWO in the context of.. "if there were only vendors like Rae and Wes who made the bride and groom their priority and stayed OUT OF POLITICS, then we would be in Heaven!' That is what I am repeating constantly to our team lately- "we pride ourselves on opting out of the politics. period." Especially with our magazine. Ya'll know- we just love what we do and it sure shows with the two of you that you feel the same. It's a labor of love. And I dont think I could even make up trash talk about you- oh my gosh! just the thought of it! You two are just bunches of positive energy that happen to be married and take great pictures! : ) much love to you both and Wes, THANK YOU for posting that. Amen!

I know some pretty big guys. I can have these snarky wedding vendors taken care of, if need be. Preach on.

Wes, it is really ironic that you posted this and we have been talking about this very subject for the last few weeks. I think people forget that this a job of customer service. If we all lose focus on the customer and start trying to 1-up each other and cut people down, we will (ultimately) lose the customers as well. We pride ourselves on finding the right vendor for each bride (whomever it may be) and hope that everyone we work with appreciates that. Please know that we've got your back on this one and I applaude you taking a stand.

See you Sunday!
